Change is all right Like sunshine in the night It moves you close to me Our own true rhapsody When all is said and done It feels the same You've chosen to believe In what they say Success was in sight In smoky lamplight With eyes not on the ball I watched you slip and fall When all is said and done You feel no shame You've chosen to believe That it all decays Change is all right When enemies reunite It moves you close to me It moves you close to me It moves you close to me Our own true rhapsody

Walking Home 03:58
I found your picture in my old backpack But I could not find my gorilla suit That made you laugh way, way back when But the mask was hot and I could not breathe Take your time, I will not let go But your hand is slipping from my side I haven’t said it but I feel all right So go inside and don’t say goodbye Walking home on Sunday feels like Calico in winter, it makes Mistletoe look deadly and I Want to be the one to see it rain It rained tonight Walking home on Sunday feels like Calico in winter, it makes Mistletoe look deadly and I Want to be the one to see it rain (It rained tonight) It rained tonight It rained tonight It rained tonight It rained tonight You make my heart explode

I can’t wait For all the evenings and the nights and the mornings I can’t wait To spend my whole life doing trust-falls with you I can’t wait to show my thanks for every moment of time with you So I’m writing this song to say That I’ve got no time to waste To spend my whole life loving you Ain’t it great Having breakfast with your best friend on Sunday (And every other day) Ain’t it great Knowing no one knows you better than they Ain’t it great that all it takes to be the best kind of me is you And I know it’s true too for you So I promise and declare That I’ll spend my whole life loving you I hope you don’t grow tired of my affection And I hope you don’t start thinking I’m too cold I promise you without a doubt or question That I’ll be waking up next to you even when we’re old Just you wait We’ll have a house with a big ol’ chef’s kitchen Just you wait There’ll be a dog and a goat and some chickens Just you wait, we’ll celebrate fifty years of our happiest days And I can’t believe it’s true So with everything I am I’ll spend my whole life loving you I know I won’t get sick of your affection And I promise I’ll scoot close when you get cold And if you can’t come up with an objection I’ll spend my whole life I’ll spend every day of my life Loving you

Cut the Wire 04:21
There is black thunder in the sky And also loaded wonder in his eye There’s no mistaking it For one small second you’re sure And you can't worry if you're wrong Just take a seat and reel it in I’ll show you how to begin And how to cut the wire If it’s not worth it to keep it Just take it back and start again When it was over, did you Learn anything Or were you worried more about What you’d eat When you were home Grabbing goldfish from the shelf You’ve gotta think about yourself and What you’ll lose If you begin If he succeeds and reels you in It's all over Was there much space to begin with Or were you just waiting for another Human to share it There is black thunder in the sky Make no mistake it is Hanging over The ducks as they’re swimming And it’s so comfortable and calm And you can’t worry if you’re wrong You can’t worry if you’re wrong You can't worry if you're wrong You can't worry if you're wrong

about

Lime Colony began independently and irreverently recording and producing music in 2007. Years later, things aren't the same and won't be the same. (Were they ever the same?) Whether or not we learned anything, we've still got some songs to sing.

This EP contains four Lime Colony recordings spanning the years 2012-2023*, all of them finally dusted off and finished, done as they can be. Tracks 1 & 2 are over a decade old. Track 3 is happily bouncing to its third birthday. Track 4 was born long ago and recorded in 2017.
...
While we were letting these songs rest, facts of life good and awful continued to shape the basis and relevance of this band. Here's an out-of-sequence, incomplete and unranked survey of our experiences: That global pandemic. The gutting, sudden stroke & passing of a father. Weddings in all directions. Moves out of town and out of state.
...
Through some pandemic introspection and during Tim's relocation to Los Angeles, we rediscovered these neglected tracks which we had spent so much time to craft and record. For some reason we had set them aside, but they were all a few edits and overdubs away from mix-ready. And then for good measure we bundled in a newer song, too. So, it's with a kinda catharsis and maybe even a kinda feeling of redemption that we are finishing and sharing this music with friends and family and whomever else.

*An accounting:
We recorded True Rhapsody and Walking Home in the final weeks of 2012. These were originally envisioned as two tracks of an LP, which never came to be. Eventually Tim and Earl recorded vocals for Walking Home in a bedroom closet in Los Angeles in March of 2022, whence My Whole Life was also recorded. Earl wrote that one in 2021. He intended it as a happy-birthday song although everyone who listened thought it was a proposal song. (It was not! But yes, Earl later performed it at his wedding.) We captured most of Cut the Wire as a single performance at bassist Will's place in Berkeley in the summer of 2017, a few weeks before beloved drummer Colin's Big Move. Later that summer we tracked Gwen's tremendous rain-like viola and vocal parts. The bulk of Tim's Cut the Wire vocals came from his home studio in 2023.

about

Lime Colony California

Lime Colony is a California-based eclectic homespun indie band / creative oasis for Timothy Garcia, Earl Kramer & friends to meld their muses.

Formed in 2006 as a folk duo, they grew into a rock band, shrank, & grew anew. Nearly two decades later and now with a satellite office in Los Angeles, they’re still making music (sometimes).
